Online custom signs company Signazon.com recently sponsored an event for the Shining Stars Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides hope to children with cancer and life-threatening diseases by offering them the opportunity to participate in unique outdoor events and recreational activities. The 8th Annual Tee Off for Kids with Cancer golf tournament was held on Friday, June 8th, 2012 at the Green Valley Ranch Golf Club in Denver. 36 teams of four participated in the event, which raised over $18,000 for the Shining Stars Foundation.
Founded in 2001 by a group of volunteers, the Shining Stars Foundation originally worked to meet the needs of children in the Rocky Mountains facing the overwhelming challenge of cancer and other serious diseases. As the Foundation has grown, it now provides five different programs and over 30 events every year, serving 1,500 children and 5,000 family members throughout 140 towns in 14 states. Activities include skiing, snowboarding, adventure sports, cultural events, and more. Most of these events are offered to the child as well as his/her family, and all activities are provided at no cost.
In preparation for its upcoming golf tournament event, the Shining Stars Foundation reached out to Signazon.coms Nonprofit Program, needing a variety of golf tee signs to recognize event sponsors, display the key purposes of the organization, and feature some of the children who have been a part of the foundation. Organizations like the Shining Stars Foundation are the reason our Nonprofit Program exists, says Rick D., CEO of Signazon.com, We want to help these groups have successful events, and effective signage is an essential part of the process.
This years Tee Off for Kids with Cancer tournament sold out in mid-May, earlier than ever before. Participants included both donors and children who are part of the organization.
