The University of Texas Pan-American, with the assistance of Academic Partnerships, launches two new online degree programs for education and business professionals this fall the Master of Education in Educational Administration and the Master of Business Administration.
The Master of Education in Educational Administration and the Master of Business Administration will be available to working adults who seek career advancement. All courses are taught by the same professors who teach on campus.
The Master of Education in Educational Administration degree program is designed to assist educators with teaching skills that will impact South Texas. The degree can lead to opportunities as principals, teachers, curriculum coordinators, instruction specialists or department leaders. Additionally, the program is beneficial to educators who teach in environments that are linguistically, multi-culturally and socioeconomically diverse.
The MBA program, which is AACSB accredited and takes a hands-on approach to learning, offers courses relevant to todays business environment. With this degree, corporate employees can enhance their current skills and qualify for positions in various areas including finance, marketing, management, human resources, operations, communications, engineering, accounting and sales. Additionally, business owners enrolled in the program will learn how to run their businesses more effectively.
Dr. Cynthia Brown, vice provost for Graduate Studies at UTPA who will oversee the project, said that these are the first ever accelerated online programs offered at UTPA and will primarily target adult learners who are working.
"UTPA is being innovative and entrepreneurial in trying to provide better access to students in the region to the great programs we have here at Pan Am," she said.
UTPA is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees. Additionally, every course within these degrees is developed based upon the nationally recognized Quality Matters (QM) Rubric for quality online instruction.
Online degree programs have emerged as the most rapidly developing trend in higher education with universities quickly converting traditional programs into an online format.
